Hello Friends,
Trying new things and change can feel difficult or down right wrong; but, that’s only the ‘creature of habit’ within protesting and being fearful. Anytime we are confronted with something new our mind searches our past history and when it comes back with nothing, it’s first response is: ‘no way, we have no information on this and it could be dangerous’! Fear not friends, this is where a little willingness comes in handy.
willing
1 : inclined or favorably disposed in mind; 2 : prompt to act or respond; 3 : done, borne, or accepted by choice or without reluctance; 4 : of or relating to the will or power of choosing
Instead of jumping right into the new thing or idea: contemplate, research, or talk with others who are familiar with it. As you learn more the fear and hesitation subsides, and you start to realize that you can, and want to, do this.
Mel’s Two Cents: Resistance to new things or ideas is normal. Simply being willing to explore the possibility can ease the tension. Try it out in your mind first: play it out like a movie in your head and see how it feels. If it feels good and you can see a happy outcome, then take that leap into the unknown!
Until next time.
