Albert Einstein said that the definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting a different result. So my friends, if you are sick and tired of being sick and tired and miserable, then it’s time to let go of the toxic, destructive and dysfunctional pattern, person, place or thing aka that bad habit you need to drop like a hot, scalding, putrid potato.
I can hear some of you now: But Mel, I can’t help it! NONSENSE! Yes you can, IF you consciously make a different choice. This is where you need to put your grit muscles to work. It takes strength to do something different because it is foreign to our usual behavior and feels hard; and not only do we fear the unknown but we also worry about what others will think or say. Wayne Dyer was fond of saying that we should strive to be independent of the good opinion of other people, and that what you think of me is none of my business.
Hi, my name is Mel and I act insane sometimes, and I love and accept myself just the way I am knowing that at any time I can make a different choice. Oh wow, I just heard some of you say: WE LOVE YOU MEL! Well golly, I love you back and thank you for your support – I really appreciate it and it makes my heart smile :)
The golden ticket is to choose to do it another way and stick with it for a while to let it “sink in” and see what different results you get. It’ll feel weird and hard at first but keep at it until it becomes second nature; you are creating a new and healthier habit/pattern of behavior that will serve you. This is all part of loving and accepting yourself, and knowing you deserve a whole heck of a lot better than what you’ve been getting!
