Sometimes we become jaded through the many difficulties we experience in our lives. I believe the antidote is love.
: fatigued by overwork: exhausted
: made dull, apathetic, or cynical by experience or by having or seeing too much of something
: strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties; maternal love for a child
: warm attachment, enthusiasm, or devotion
: the object of attachment, devotion, or admiration
: unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another: such as the fatherly concern of God for humankind; brotherly concern for others
If hurt people hurt people, then troubling behavior is a cry for love and acceptance but it can be hard to forgive, have compassion and love on people who hurt you or do awful things.
First, love yourself enough to know you don’t deserve to be mistreated and you don’t have to tolerate it. Then forgive yourself and forgive the other(s) for any perceived wrongs. Lastly, approach your life and others from a loving mindset: be kind, respectful, compassionate and generous, even if others do not repay the favor. Do it for yourself and your own peace of mind and well being.
Mel’s Two Cents: What you think, speak, do and believe is how you will view and experience your life. Choose to be more loving with yourself and others, and you will experience a more loving and abundant life.
Until next time.
